It's come to my notice recently that there are copies of my songs (both lyrics and/or music), videos of me, copies of tracks off my albums etc - on music forums and places like YouTube and MySpace. Very FEW of these have my permission for publication on the web. Most people putting them up have not even done me the courtesy of asking for my permission to put them up. At best this is RUDE - at worst it's ILLEGAL. My lyrics should be on the web NOWHERE apart from this site, unless I have given express WRITTEN permission for their inclusion elsewhere. I have given only ONE person permission to put videos of me on YouTube (a close friend). NO OTHER PERMISSION TO INCLUDE ANY OF MY MATERIAL HAS BEEN GIVEN - either recorded (studio or private) or written and I object strongly to their use without that permission. IF YOU FIND ANY SUCH INSTANCES OF COPYRIGHT ABUSE I WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD PLEASE EMAIL ME TO LET ME KNOW - THANK YOU! |
