....and so the wheel turns.......
The Man

The man enters your life with quiet grace, casts an image deep within your mind...
His voice creates a stillness in the never ending race. You see his face when to all else your eyes are blind....
And where darkness reigns he moves like some bright star that shines its light on you say and do.
A soul that reaches out to you though the distance may be far, to soothe each tender, aching nerve and bring his peace to you...

CHORUS:
As the wheel turns and your heart learns
He may let you stumble but he'll never let you fall...
and you may ride the rim but you'll never be far from him
'cos he's at the centre of it all.. yes he's at the centre of it all...

He's at the centre of it all

A solitary man he hides away; comes to terms with loneliness, or so he says.
Yet round his room you find the actors in his private play, the chosen souvenirs that share those thoughtful days .......
and though proud, you know he sometimes fills a glass, and feeling carefree for the moment leaves that shell behind.
He speaks the truth without reserve, knowing soon the hour will pass. Tomorrow he cannot deny it all and blame it on the wine....

CHORUS:
But the wheel turns and your heart learns
He may let you stumble but he'll never let you fall...
and you may ride the rim but you'll never be far from him
'cos he's at the centre of it all.. yes he's at the centre of it all...

He's at the centre of it all

And the man can be your friend like none before - his rare mistakes are easy to forgive.
His wealth is not his gold, though you'd never call him poor - his gifts are more than even he knows that he has to give...
The man is way ahead of you - or so he feels. Sometimes he's right but then again, sometimes he's wrong...
and that mind can wound you just as surely as it heals, he brings out all your weaknesses but Lord he makes you strong!

CHORUS:
So the wheel turns and your heart learns
He may let you stumble but he'll never let you fall...
and you may ride the rim but you'll never be far from him
'cos he's at the centre of it all.. yes he's at the centre of it all...

He's at the centre of it all

And the man can be the lover of your life - but once you've seen him there there's none can follow.
His leaving cuts your body like a knife and he leaves your life a wilderness but the heart's no hollow.....
When the man takes down the coffee from the shelf and turns the smile you give him back towards your eyes,
you may thinking that you are winning but you'll find you've fooled yourself.
You've seduced your own reflection... but still you realise...

CHORUS:
That the wheel turns and your heart learns
He may let you stumble but he'll never let you fall...
and you may ride the rim but you'll never be far from him
'cos he's at the centre of it all.. yes he's at the centre of it all...

He's at the centre of it all

And the man can be a devil and a sweet, angelic clown - a knight in shining armour and a scarecrow fool.
Watch him tilt at windmills but don't you ever bring him down for living by those old romantic rules!
And no doubt you can tighten him, and frighten him and fret him.... dare say fight with him and lose... and bear the scars....
But you never will regret it or forget him - 'cos he's causing all the changes that are making you the way you are.....

CHORUS:
And so the wheel turns and your heart learns
He may let you stumble but he'll never let you fall...
So go on - ride out on that rim but you'll never, never be far from him
'cos he's at the centre of it all.. yes he's at the centre of it all...
yes he's at the centre of it all...
You love him - so he's the center of it all.......
