Jamaica, Jamaica I love you
(Requested by Marian Fletcher)

... the spirit feels lighter....

...where the tropical night makes the stars seem much brighter...

All of my life I have dreamed of an island, where the feeling of freedom can get into my soul.
Where the tropical night makes the stars seem much brighter, the spirit feel lighter and the good times roll...
I've found me a heaven on Runaway Bay. Found me a heaven - but I'm leaving today...........

the tropical night...CHORUS:
Oh Jamaica, Jamaica I love you - don't let me go home.
Your clear crystal waters, your blue misty mountains, call me wherever I roam...
I've got my heart on my sleeve - and if I must leave, I swear my tears will turn it to stone.
Oh Jamaica, Jamaica I love you - don't let me go home...

I've said my farewell to the reef and the Wild Cat where she lies at her moorings at the end of the day
but when the wind blows I will still see her running - her bright, rainbow sails like a jewel in the bay...
running through heaven on Runaway Bay - running through heaven I'm leaving today.......

the tropical night...CHORUS:
Oh Jamaica, Jamaica I love you - don't let me go home.
Your clear crystal waters, your blue misty mountains, call me wherever I roam...
I've got my heart on my sleeve - and if I must leave, I swear my tears will turn it to stone.
Oh Jamaica, Jamaica I love you - don't let me go home...

They said - 'Don't lose your heart to the blue Caribbean - you'll never be free for the rest of your days'...
But I took one look at Jamaica, Jamaica and my heart flew away.....

Blackbird I still hear the sounds of your singing, like morning bells ringing way up in the trees.
You greeted us when we first came to this island - sing our farewell - for soon we must leave.
Sing in this heaven on Runaway Bay.... sing of the heaven I'm leaving today...

the tropical night...CHORUS:
Oh Jamaica, Jamaica I love you - don't let me go home.
Your clear crystal waters, your blue misty mountains, call me wherever I roam...
I've got my heart on my sleeve - and if I must leave, I swear my tears will turn it to stone.
Oh Jamaica, Jamaica I love you - don't let me go home...
